Unbelievable Result

I passed my exam!

Now I really understand when people say that "I CAN'T / DON'T BELIEVE IT!"

YES! It's unbelievable, even my mum told me that she saw it 5 times already and told me that my dad was very very happy. I  was so happy till I CRIED! I have been waiting for this day for a very long long time now...

:)

Well, I really need to thank my saviour, Sheldy boy, for helping me to learn to understand. Because I know for sure, without him, I won't be able to realize that very important point. So, MUAX FOR YOU!

Seriously, when my mum told me that I passed my paper, I totally did not believe it. I was telling my mum that "Alright, I'm ready, so tell me how badly I had fail this time." Hah! It took me so long till my aunt shouted that I passed! But even till these very moment, I still can't believe...

*SHOOT ME*

So, YAYS for me! I PASSED! SO ONE LAST ONE TO GO BEFORE I SIT FOR THE CHARTED PAPER WHICH SHOULD BE IN OCTOBER 2010.

And after that, I'll be taking my Fellowship or I think I should work first because according to my lecturer, he said in order to get Fellowship, I have to have a minimum requirement of 5 years working experience.. So yes, I will wait for that to come!

*Updates on my so very long awaited job in Allianz*

I called the Hr on Monday and Miss Sharmini actually recognised my voice man! GREAT! She was like, "I KNOW IT'S YOU!" *Sigh* So malu la... But it's a good thing though! At least she can still remember how my voice is! *LOL* So she told me that I'm still on hold because the CEO told them that he SAW SOMETHING IN ME and he is still discussing with his COO/CBO on the position which he thinks is suitable for me... Well, I'll have to just wait and see about that!

Have a lovely weekend!

P.S. ANN is coming back this weekend. I have to meet up with her!

Paintball & Swimming

Last Saturday I finally swam again after a month and I can say that my stamina had left me for good and now I really have to work hard to get my stamina back so that I can swim non stop laps.

*SIGH*

And yes! On Sunday we went for paintball in Bukit Tempur Paintball Arena, Hulu Langat. I was so fired up the night before about the paintball but when I GOOGLED for the paintball bruises, I backed out. It was damaging man!

Nevertheless, Shel went for the game and got himself some beautiful shots on the hand and leg. *HAHA*

I told all those marshals that I will come back and this time I'll be in the "battlefield"! :)

It was a good experience though I did not participate!

Will be driving back to Ipoh tonight!

Oh yes... YESTERDAY'S LIGHTNiNG WAS SUPER DUPER TERRIBLE! *Arrrggghhh*

My "Chat" with the CEO of Allianz Malaysia

The first thing I want to say is...

I am the happiest and the luckiest person alive!

Well, the "so-called" interview with Mr. Alexander was great. Everything went on smoothly on Friday.

I woke up very early that morning because I have butterflies in my stomach and I could not sleep. Thankfully, my bf took leave on that day so he sent me to Wisma UOA, Jalan Pinang for my interview which was supposed to be at 11am.

So I reached there around 10.35am and luckily it was just drizzling and not raining cats and dogs. Yes, when I went to the receptionist, she told me to have a sit first and there was another lady who was also waiting for her turn to meet the CEO. After waiting for almost an hour, finally I was called in by the secretary to meet up with Mr. Alexander Ankel.

When I walked in to the room, directly in front of me, the "BIG" chair was empty and looked around, only then I saw him sitting on his leather sofa waiting for me to come in.HAHA!

Just to cut the story short, after the whole meeting, while I was waiting for the elevator, his secretary walked to me and when I turned to say thank you to her, she told me this, "Congratulations, you've got an immediate answer from the CEO. You've got the job."

Well, hopefully I will really get the job then!

WHEEEEEE!!!

I just need to get another call to confirm and my letter... then everything will me A-O-KAY!!

Oh yes, I can't resist but to tell him that he looked like John Travolta and he is so tall man!

RITE RITE??
I know he does!

My second call

Last Tuesday, while I was watching The Secret, suddenly my cellphone rang and guess who called???

It's MISS SHARMINI FROM ALLIANZ!!!!

I was so so overwhelmed till I can't breathe.

I got through the first interview

and now,

I'll be going for my SECOND interview with the CEO,
Mr. Cornelius Alexander Ankel, himself tomorrow!

For the past few days even till now, I am having butterflies in my stomach.
I am just very very extremely nervous.
Hopefully everything will go smoothly again!
:)

Trip to Melaka and I finally get to post this

21st November, 2009

First up, Desmond and Elizabeth's wedding dinner in Holiday Inn Hotel, Glenmarie.
The used to be "Little Norah Girl" seems to be not so little already. Hehe.

Then, the next morning, we started our journey to Melaka as early as 5.30am.
We were lost when we arrived in Melaka as all the roads there are practically one way. So we somehow dash through and finally found Uncle Don's working place, the Melaka Straits Hotel.
For starters, the breakfast, Laksa Lemak Nyonya Style!
Villa Istana... The house where Shahrukh Khan stayed.

Mini Malaysia

Cultural dance

There are many different types of houses in Mini Malaysia... took loadsa pictures but I'm really really lazy to upload them here. Haha! Save myself some time. In the evening, we went to the Fort.

Christ Church Melaka

After the visit, we headed to a place (which I forgot the name) to have seafood. The scenery was so beautiful and calming at the same time. I could not ask for more. I always love the sea ever since I was young. The seafood over there was so so fresh that I totally forgot to take pictures of them because my itchy hands just can't resist the temptation... We called fried squid, prawns, steamed fish and grilled fish and loadsa shellfish.  *DROOLLLSSSS*

Then we were off to the River Cruise to enjoy the night scenery of Melaka.

AND FINALLY THE NIGHT WAS OVER...

In a blink of an eye, the another day is here! Uncle Don took us to a very famous place for popiah and also the Laksa Lemak and this time it was really good. The laksa was something like Sheldon's grandma's Portuguese Laksa. We had "PIE TEE" as well.. Very fresh and crunchy! (sorry... no food pictures...)

Then we went round Melaka town and for lunch, we went to this place where they only sell PORK SATAY. The sauce and the satay was fantabulous! That was the most juiciest and the most aromatic satay I've ever tasted.

Oh yes, by the way, that morning I called up Allianz to check my status and Miss Sharmini actually remembered me and said, "HI YANG MAY! Don't worry, we haven't forget you." MAN!!! THAT IS A VERY GOOD SIGN LEH!! She told me that she still need to interview few more candidates and will finalise the decision by one week time. :)

For tea time, Aunty Sharon wanted to go for her fried banana and look what I found,

Super duper HUGE banana!!

And for dinner, as usual, the starter was "OH CHIEN" a.k.a Fried Oyster in an egg batter. That was the most famous one, just by the roadside. Most of the people will take away but we actually went in to their "house" and ate there. Haha! Invaders! Honestly, that was the best I've ever tasted. YUMMEHHH... I so wanna go for more...

And for dinner, we went to the Portuguese Settlement for the Chili Crab! It was FANTASTIC MAN!!!

And last but not least, the last day in Melaka, we had the most famous CHICKEN BALL RICE for BREAKFAST!!! LOVELY!!! I want to go there again!!

...MEMORABLE TRIP...

random post again...

It is so cold today! My hands and feet are as cold as ICE! THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE DAY MAN! I didn't even see the sun! Guess it's global warming... Hah!

Two days back, Uncle Mano called me up for lunch and I drove over to his place. Met up with him and he introduced me to his long time friend, Renee. She was an artist by profession and a healer too. She told me that she does a lot of healing back in Kuala Kubu Bharu.

I was amazed. I mean, my new found friend is an artist and also a healer! HOW COOL IS THAT?!

Okay. Back to where I was, uncle Mano took me to what he called "Mother In-Law's Place" in Brickfields and I tell you, the food was fantastic man! I CAN'T WAIT TO GO THERE AGAIN TOMORROW! Oh yes, another thing was that I can't seem to take my eyes of Renee's earring which is the EYE OF HORUS.

According to her, she said it is a protection symbol where it can protect anything and thought me how to do the Eye of Horus sign with my hands. It was pretty amazing I tell you, to get to know this kinda people and getting to learn things like these.

Her earrings looked something like this.

Anyways, as usual, uncle Mano had to give me half of his rasam because he know that I love it and the rasam was GOOOOOOOOODDDD!!!!! Thank you uncle Mano!! *SLURP*

When back to his house and chat for a while with the both of them before Renee went back to KKB, and uncle Mano gave me some of her paintings in postcards form and told me that one of her painting was sold for more than RM10,000. Geezzz... By the way, her paintings were all abstract.

And yesterday, we bumped onto Angela and uncle Mano again in Vishal for dinner and Angela told us that she is going to finalize her plans to South America which will cost about RM10k if I'm not wrong. Places that she will be going is Brazil, Chile, and Rio de Janeiro. And she will be on the tip of  Antarctica but she said that she didn't want to make it there because of the fare. It's about USD 2,000 and that is the cheapest.

Ahhhh....

How I wish....

YAY!!! MY SHEEP!!!

IS IN THE BACKGROUND DEEE!!!!

WHEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Updatess

Finally I feel like updating...

HAH! Have been very sluggish these days mostly due to the weather. Yes! BLAME IT ON THE WEATHER!!!

So, the interview with Allianz on Monday was superb! I was praised by my "FUTURE" employer man! LOL! It was the best interview ever! Maybe because it's a MNC company. Or maybe they are trained to do so... I don't know but one thing I know for sure is that I AM DYING TO WORK WITH THEM!!

Firstly, the benefits, 2 months contractual bonus, might get the opportunity to go to other Allianz worldwide. And if I were to study in UK next time for my masters, I can actually asked to be transferred there too! I mean like, come on man! Which company offers such a thing?

Well, hopefully I'll get another call for the second interview and this time will be with the CEO, Mr. Alexander Ankel. I'm so dying to meet him in person! ARRRGGHHHH!!!!

Please please please call me ALLIANZ!!!

Oh yes, another thing. Today I was called by a recruitment company to send in my CV to be viewed by ING.
And their location: JALAN RAJA CHULAN.
I don't want to get stuck in jam ever again after what I have been through last time.
HELL NO!

And after procrastinating for so long, I finally changed my background and my new post title font! NICE OR NOT CYS?? PAY ME AND I'LL DO ONE FOR YOU! BAH!!!
But too bad... Can't see my poor little sheep and the basket...

One call that I have been waiting for...

I AM SO TRILLED WHEN ALLIANZ FINALLY CALLED ME FOR AN INTERVIEW NEXT MONDAY!!!

SUPER YAYS FOR ME!

That's the call which I'm been waiting for long enough...

You see, I was kinda like taking time out to shut all those sound pollution which is still going on for the past 3 days already and I HATE IT! Seriously man. Think it's the road works replacing those large underground pipes...GEEEEE!! SO ANNOYING!! How I wish my Ipod is still with me so I can just plug on and have soothing music to ease up!

Anyways, back to where I was, suddenly a KL number called me and the lady introduced herself and said that she would like to interview me next Monday. I was so happy till I feel like puking! HAH!

I AM OUT OF THE WORLD MAN!!

HOPEFULLY EVERYTHING WILL TURN OUT WELL!

Happy 40th Birthday Sesame Street!

When "Sesame Street" premiered, Oscar the Grouch was much grouchier than he is today.
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • "Sesame Street" will celebrate its 40th anniversary on November 10
  • Early years now on DVD with warning label: intended for nostalgia purposes only
  • On the DVDs, Cookie Monster smokes a pipe; children are seen riding bikes without helmets
  • Set has been sanitized, but warmth of show remains

(CNN) -- In the early days of "Sesame Street" -- that is, B.E. (Before Elmo) -- Sesame Street was a pretty grimy place.

The brownstone at 123 Sesame Street looked like it needed a serious power washing, the storefront of Mr. Hooper's shop was intentionally dingy and the Fix-It Shop's window was cluttered with toasters. It was gritty, but gritty in a magical way.

When the show started in 1969 ("Sesame Street" will celebrate its 40th anniversary on November 10), the concept of educational television programming was nothing short of revolutionary. "Sesame Street" was originally intended as a learning tool for inner-city children -- not only as a supplement to their lessons in math and the ABCs but to teach them to be good people and show them that learning can be fun.

Those early years are now available on DVD; and the discs contain a disclaimer that essentially states that they are intended for nostalgia purposes only. The warning reads as follows:

Video: Stars remember 'Sesame Street'

"These early 'Sesame Street' episodes are intended for grown-ups, and may not suit the needs of today's preschool child."

Say what!? Never did I ever think I'd see "Sesame Street" and "intended for grown-ups" in the same sentence. iReport: What letter of the alphabet would you like to pay tribute to?

On the DVDs, Cookie Monster can be seen as his character of Alistair Cookie in his "Monsterpiece Theatre" segment (a spoof of Alistair Cooke's "Masterpiece Theatre") smoking a pipe.

Yep, Cookie Monster smoked.

He later eats the pipe because, as he was often prone to doing, he thinks the pipe is a cookie. Cookie Monster used to become so overwhelmed by his desire for cookies that he'd start seeing (hallucinating about?) cookies that weren't actually there. He'd eat (rotary) telephones, typewriters (what are those?), pencils, almost anything. It was funny.

Today, Cookie Monster's diet is much more balanced, as he has adopted the philosophy that cookies are a "sometimes food." Cookie coincidentally changed his tune in 2006 amidst reports that childhood obesity had reached epidemic proportions.

Early "Sesame Street" had some other elements that would not pass muster today. Oscar the Grouch is just plain nasty, children are seen riding their bikes without helmets, and there's even a sketch where the human character of Gordon can be seen approaching a little girl on the street. He takes her by the hand and brings her into his house for milk and cookies (again with the cookies!). Clearly, that could be misinterpreted by today's standards.

Now, some 4,000 episodes later, 123 Sesame Street has gotten that power washing. Peeling paint is nowhere to be found, and the only visible garbage can has a tenant. It's much more sanitized. I'm tempted to make fun of this, but then I notice the bottle of anti-bacterial hand gel on my desk and bite my proverbial tongue.

For better or worse, today's preschooler is very different from the 1969 version. And children's television programming simply has to reflect that.

But one thing hasn't changed on "Sesame Street": the unflinchingly genuine attitudes of its residents. For 40 years, they have taught us that sometimes we are going to get hurt, cry and be lonely. They've taught us that there'll also be times when we're downright jovial. All the while, those characters have remained sincere.

We may never see Cookie Monster eat a pipe again, but luckily the memories are preserved on DVD, and in our hearts.

my personal favourite... COOKIE MONSTER
and ELMO!!
